Most apps were built to send. ChatVia was built to keep.

Every conversation has value: family, friends, clients, customers, teams. Sending the message is the easy part. Keeping it, finding it, trusting it'll still be there in three years is the hard problem nobody solved properly. That's the only problem ChatVia is here to solve.

The short version

Most messengers, including the one you're probably using right now, store your chat history on your phone. Lose the phone, lose the chats. A backup, if it works, is the only thing standing between you and zero. ChatVia inverts that: the server holds the encrypted history; your devices are views into it. New phone, new laptop, broken screen: sign in, approve from your old device, and the history is there. India-resident. Searchable across years. Yours.

Conversations as memory, not transit

Messaging apps were designed when storage was expensive, bandwidth was tight, and a phone number was a person's only identity. So they treated messages like the medium suggested: as packets in flight. Sent. Maybe delivered. Eventually irrelevant. Gone.

Now storage is cheap, networks are fast, and the messages themselves carry the actual record of your life and work. The chat isn't the carrier any more. It's the cargo. ChatVia is what falls out when you take that seriously from the first commit.

Permanence, by default

Your full chat history lives on the server (encrypted, stored in India), not on a single device. New phone, new laptop, broken screen: log in, and seven years of conversations, files, and photos are already there. No backup files. No Google Drive dance. No "restoring messages…" progress bar that lies about how long it'll take.

And because permanence is the default, deletion is meaningful: when you delete something, you actually delete it (not "remove from this view"), and you can do that any time, for any message, in any conversation. Permanent doesn't mean exposed.

Search across years, not weeks

Find an invoice from March of last year. Re-read what a client agreed to in 2024. Pull up your mom's biryani recipe from the day she sent it. Three seconds, not thirty minutes of scroll. Search is fast across messages, file names, and attachments, designed for queries against years of history, not just the last week.

One app for work and life

Most of us already mix family, friends, freelance clients, and team chats in the same messaging app. Splitting that into "this one is for work, this one is for life" is an artificial cost most people refuse to pay. Every chat and file lives on servers inside the country: closer (so it's faster), local (so it aligns with how India is choosing to handle its data), and yours (so it doesn't sit on someone else's continent). For too long, communication apps have treated India as just another market. ChatVia is being built with India at its core.

Storage-only pricing

No per-message, per-user, or per-conversation fees. You pay only for the storage you actually use. Adding a teammate, a client, a cousin, or a five-hundred-person community doesn't multiply your bill. The promise is "you get to keep everything"; the pricing is built around that.
