ChatVia

Pricing

You pay for storage.
Not for messages, not for seats.

Per-user and per-message pricing punishes the exact behaviour ChatVia wants you to do: keep everyone, keep everything, look it up in three years. So the only thing you pay for is the storage you actually use. Predictable, transparent, and aligned with the promise.

Not how it works

Per person

Inviting a teammate, a client, or your mother doesn't multiply the bill.

Not how it works

Per message

Send a hundred messages in a minute, or one a year. Same price.

Not how it works

Per conversation

One thread or four hundred. The conversation count never shows up on your bill.

How it actually works

Just the storage you use.

Messages take almost nothing. Your years of chat history will fit comfortably in the free tier. The bill only starts mattering once you're sharing real volumes of photos, videos, and large attachments, and even then, it's per-gigabyte and predictable.

Starter

Free

For every personal account at launch.

A few gigabytes of media storage. Unlimited messages. Full search. Permanent history. India-resident.

Personal+

Per GB

When the family album grows up.

Same messaging app, same search, same permanence: pay only for the extra storage your photos and files actually use. Cancel any time.

Business

Per GB · pooled

One bill, the whole org.

Storage pooled across everyone you bring on. Admin controls, retention rules, export. Billed by what the org keeps, not by how many people you talk to. Same India-resident infrastructure.

Exact rates are being finalised ahead of launch. Waitlist members lock in launch pricing for the plan they sign up for.

Common questions about the pricing

What if I never share files: is the storage charge zero?
Effectively, yes. Pure text messages are tiny; years of text-only chat history fit in the free tier comfortably. Storage only becomes meaningful when you're keeping photos, videos, and large attachments.
What happens if I exceed my plan?
You'll get a notice well before. New messages keep flowing; oldest large attachments get queued for cold storage (still searchable, slightly slower to open) until you upgrade or trim.
Why per-storage instead of per-user like everyone else?
Because the promise is "keep everything." Per-user pricing punishes adding people. Per-message pricing punishes using the app. Per-conversation pricing makes you ration. Storage is the only honest unit for a "keep everything" product.
Will the free tier stay around?
A meaningful free tier for personal accounts is in the plan for launch and at minimum the first three years post-launch. Beyond that we'll commit when we can credibly hold the commitment. We'd rather be honest about the time horizon than promise "forever" the way every messenger eventually regrets.
